Lewes House Artists provides an opportunity for professional or career artists living or working in Lewes and the surrounding area to exhibit their work.

Lewes House Artists is a collaboration between local artist John Worth and Visit Lewes (Lewes District Council).

The aims of Lewes House Artists are to:

  • Provide local artists with a thriving platform on which to stimulate and grow the local artist economy in a spirit of collaboration and community building.

  • Provide a high quality visitor attraction, encouraging art lovers and buyers to the town and surrounding district.

  • Promote the wider artist community around Lewes by signposting to other local exhibitions, galleries and arts-based events across the area.


Criteria for submissions of art work:

  • You should be an artist living in and/or with a working studio in the Lewes District.

  • The production of art should be your primary means of income.

  • Individual pieces of work should be priced for sale up to £6,000 - you should price your work based on the amount you wish to receive after the Lewes House Artists commission of 43% has been deducted.

  • Artists will receive 57% of the sale price of each art work sold in Lewes House or the online gallery, after third party transaction fees (i.e. PayPal, WorldPay etc).

  • If selected, the work will be considered for future exhibiting and should be available to display at Lewes House on request.

  • Art work will usually be displayed at Lewes House for one calendar month and will also feature in the Online Gallery for two months.

  • When displayed on the Lewes House Artists online gallery, selected work should not be offered for sale on any other platform (i.e. Singulart, Saatchi Art or your own website).
